I am starting on a big new project with three fantastic conservation partners: Borderlands Research Institute, Rio Grande Joint Venture, and Trans-Pecos Bird Conservation.
As Principal Artist for the new Chihuahuan Desert Conservation Arts Initiative, I will be making a portfolio of paintings, along with interpretive materials, for 10 bird species that represent a cross-section of the avian diversity of the Trans-Pecos / Big Bend region.
The first bird we are working with is Montezuma Quail. To get the partners something they can actually use as quickly as possible, we started with this 2-sided coloring page / interpretive handout that I just completed.
Download a PDF of the handout if you would like to see the whole thing and learn a bit more about Montezuma Quail!
